New blog

There have been a lot of changes... after a sabbatical year I have not only changed grades but schools as well.  Check out our new classroom blog at http://grade3evergreen.blogspot.ca/  The format may look a bit familiar and that's because I loved the look of this blog so much I just revamped it a bit.  Check us out :)

JK Play Day

The JK's also had a fun in the sun play day on the last day of school.  We played outside with bubbles, the sprinkler and had tricycle races.  We went inside for lunch and had pizza and ice cream.  Fun, fun, fun.  What a great way to end the school year.  Have a wonderful summer, everyone.

Primary Play Day

We had a Primary Play Day on Wednesday during the last week of school.  Students were divided into cross graded teams from the SK to Grade 3/4 classes.  They rotated through 8 different stations including bubbles, mural painting, noodle hockey, tricycle races, sprinklers, skipping, drip drip drop and sidewalk chalk and of course ICE CREAM.

It was great weather and everyone had an enjoyable afternoon.

Reader's Theatre in SK

During the last week of school students in SK were working in pairs on Reader's Theatres with seasonal themes.  We had plays about frogs and toads, chicks and mother hens, caterpillars and butterflies, farms, picnics, birds, fish, etc.  Students practiced their reading together, some made puppets to use and then presented to the class.  We had some budding actors and actresses in here to be sure :)

Happy Father's Day

We have been doing some writing in JK and SK for the special men in our lives for Father's Day.  Students have been asked some questions about their fathers, brothers and grandfathers.  Things they like to eat, what they like to do, where they work, favourite food, colours, etc.

We found in our writing that these people range in age from 5 to 99.  Many of the dad's favourite colours are pink and purple and not surprisingly their favourite thing to do is spend time with their children.
